Chimney Cowls, Chimney Pots, Caps and Bird Protection

Chimney cowls provide a range of benefits, preventing rain and animals from gaining access to the chimney.

Static Chimney Cowls are metal ventilators that act as simple birdguard cowls designed to keep birds and vermin out of your chimney whilst also reducing rain entry.

H-style or H-pot cowls are effective at reducing down-drafts stopping smoke from blowing back into the room whilst revolving chimney cowls can be used in some situations to act like a turbine producing more updraft whilst increasing ventilation.

Where a chimney is no longer used, a disused chimney cowl can be fitted to cap it and still ventilate the chimney. These keep out birds, vermin, leaves and rain.

Bird guards are designed to stop birds accessing your chimney, Jackdaws regularly nest in chimneys causing blockages, creating carbon monoxide build up and smoke to enter the room. We strongly recommend fitting a carbon monoxide alarm in the same room as your appliance to avoid the chance of carbon monoxide poisoning.
